The Long-Tailed Duck was once known as the Old Squaw Duck. These ducks will appear on the St. Clair River in very large rafts during the winter. This particular photo was also submitted to the Cornell Labs of Ornithology and published on their site a few years ago (I believe 2014). They are unmistakeable in appearance and by the loud noise that accompanies them! I shot this picture at the turnout at the end of Pine Grove Park, near the Hollyhock mooring.

Sighted near Pine Grove Park.
