With the goal of improving the quality of life in the south side of Port Huron, the first major task of Acheson Ventures was to restore and upgrade the neglected Port Huron Terminal Company.
In 2003, the Terminal Company received a fresh look with a totally new docking facility for cruise boats and working ships. The dock area is designed to accommodate all types of watercraft with power pedestals of 110 and 220 volts as well as 440 volts for large ships. Stainless steel railings have been installed along the entire pier and may be removed in sections to allow access to ships anywhere along the dock.
Along with the waterfront improvements, the south warehouse on the property has been converted to an event center. Amenities include an elevator, warming kitchen, bathrooms and glass overhead doors that open to the waterfront for those special summer days.
The Terminal is the home-port of the tall ship, Highlander Sea and the decommissioned USCG Cutter Bramble. While in port, both of these ships may be viewed from the rooftop parking lot.
