BP Dome Petroleum Nature Trail

Turtle Beach was named by the employees of BP (British Petroleum) who developed a publicly accessible nature trail along the Pine River.  The beach is used by turtles in the area for laying their eggs as well as sunning themselves.  The beach is accessible from the river and the walking trail.  You can easily beach a canoe or kayak at the site and enjoy the picnic pavilion constructed by BP volunteer employees.  There is also a porta potty at this location.

The beach is about a 1.5-2 hour casual paddle from the St. Clair Boat Harbor/Marina.
